Production Engineer (Underground Mining)


We are currently seeking applications from suitably qualified Mine Production Engineers to facilitate optimal extraction of Gold Ore from an underground mine in the Goldfields. This role is FIFO from Perth and will be on an 8/6 roster.

This is a permanent role with a respected organisation that is committed to providing ongoing career development potential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Contributing to organisational effectiveness and encouraging full participation and buy-in from team members.
• Coordinating activities of planning, production and contractors in carrying out the daily work plan, and ensuring activities are consistently aligned with meeting operational targets.
• Securing the success of the mine through achievement of planned production and safety targets.
• Assisting in development of weekly and monthly plans in collaboration with the Senior Mining Engineer.
• Creating competent, consistent and optimal drill and blast designs.
• Ensuring that all statutory responsibilities and obligations are met.
• Assisting in the development, implementation and monitoring of reporting information.
• Providing ongoing leadership and mentoring for graduates and cadets.
• Maintaining a continuous improvement approach to work performed.

To be considered for this role you will need the below:

• Bachelor of Science Degree, Mine Engineering
• 3 Years on site experience, with exposure to Drilling, Blasting, Ventilation, Planning and Scheduling, with a min of 1 year underground
• Exposure to contract mining environments
• Experience with Mining software such as Datamine, Mine Works Planner

Preference will also be given to candidates who meet the below
• Honours or Postgraduate qualifications 
• Formal Business or Commerce studies
• Exposure to a variety of ore body types
• Exposure to different mining methods and associated economics
