Fitter Machinist - Hydraulics

Our client, who is one of the major Original Equipment Manufacturers in the mining sector, requires the services of an experienced 1st Class Machinist for an immediate start.

Essential Criteria for the role is as follows:-

**Successful candidates will have a bare minimum of 3 years post trade experience working on the maintenance, repair & service of hydraulic cylinders specific to heavy earthmoving machinery pertinent to mining and not civil works – will look at candidates who have sound exposure working in similar environments such as medium to heavy engineering workshops.

**Roster is 5 days on, 2 days off rotating days to afternoon shifts – will initially start on contract however for the right candidate they will have the potential for a permanent opportunity.

**Immediate start for the right candidate (will still be interested in speaking with you if a notice period is needed to be worked out so please do not hesitate to call for more information).

**Must have previous experience as a 1st class machinist (fitter/machinist trade qualifications required) with a strong focus on hydraulic cylinders along with the ability to work from Engineering Drawings all the while producing quality work.

** Previous experience working on Caterpillar, Elphinstone or similar equipment would be looked upon favourably as well as being able to work independently, have sound problem-solving abilities all the while being focused and able to do highly accurate work (machining tolerances)

**Current valid driver licence along with forklift, dogging and basic rigging tickets will be essential for this role – tickets must be nationally accredited and to WorkSafe standards (if you do not currently hold a dogging ticket then the willingness to obtain one would be critical if you are viewing this as a long term role/opportunity)

Chasing experienced Cylindrical Grinder Operator for a metro based client.. Fantastic opportunity for the right candidate. Must have drivers licence and DOGGING TICKET.

Our client a major OEM in the mining sector requires the services of a Cylindrical Grinder Operator who has previous experience on cylindrical grinding & chrome plating. This is a ground floor opportunity to break into the mining sector and work for the industry market leader. To qualify you must have proven experience as a cylindrical grinder working to a tolerance, come with a current drivers licence and dogging ticket.

If you have worked to a tolerance with a micrometer & used a large scale grinder working on cylindrical tubes anywhere from 2 to 3 metres long, then this is the job for you!

Roster is 5 days on 2 days off - 2 weeks on day shift & 2 weeks on afternoon shifts.
8 hour days.

The Successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in a Service Administration role or similar & will have Intermediate to Advanced MS Office skills, particularly with Excel.

Our client, a major OEM in the mining sector, requires the service of a Fitter Machinist with Hone Operating experience; due to an increase of work the Hydraulics section are seeking a Fitter Machinist/Hone Operator.

The position will be required for an estimated period of 6 months.

Successful candidates must hold Fitter / Machinist Trade Qualification and sound experience / exposure in Hone Operation.

It is essential for the successful candidate to hold a current dogging ticket or if not the holder of one must be willing to obtain a dogging ticket at their own cost.

Roster: Mon-Fri, 2 weeks of dayshift, 2 weeks of afternoon shift - 8 hours per shift (more hours could be available pending on amount of work at the time)

Location: Eastern Suburbs

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified Fitter / Machinist Trade Certificate with a minimum of 3 years post trade experience
  • Demonstrated Safe working attributes and ability to complete risk assessments
  • Demonstrated previous experience using manual machines.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce work from engineering drawings, producing quality work within quoted tolerances
