Plant Mechanic / Engine Builder

We are chasing Plant Mechanics (Engine rebuilders) with experience on repairs & rebuilds of CAT engines or similar. Must be Heavy Trade qualified. Immediate start!

Successful applicants must have a current driver’s licence, reliable transport & are heavy trade qualified for a local mining workshop.

The role will entail stripping down, inspection & assembly of engines.

The roster is 5 DAYS ON, 2 DAYS OFF.
10 hour days with the possibility of overtime depending on work load.

To be successful for the roles we have available you will have sound experience with the maintenance of LV 4 x 4's including Hilux, Prado, Ford Rangers ,Land Cruiser, plus Toyota past background & experienced on Scania and medium size trucks.

To qualify you will need the following:

• Trade Qualified LV Fitter (Trade Cert)
• Toyota experience working on Hilux, Prado, Land Cruiser, Ford Ranger & Scania Trucks
• Be able to pass a Medical and Drug and Alcohol
• Must have excellent Electrical skills / knowledge

Senior Control Systems (PLC) Engineer

• Opportunity to participate in the development and implementation of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) logic improvements at one of the major Pilbara iron ore ports.
• Opportunity to work on an established project in the development phase, with approximate role duration of over four months commencing in February 2017.
• Opportunity to work in a Perth based environment but also participate in extensive Site based installation and commissioning works.
• Opportunity to broaden technical knowledge and experience in the resources sector.

The Role
The role is for an experienced Senior Control Systems Engineer to join an established project team to roll-out changes to equipment / drive level PLC logic at the clients port as part of a major control system standardisation project.
The Senior Control Systems Engineer will play an important role as both a senior member of a project team, but also capable of working with minimal guidance for site based works.
The role will implement the technical directions given by the project’s Lead Engineer, and report to the Project Manager.
This role has a planned commencement date of February 2017 with a forecasted duration of five months.

What The Role Entails
This role is a great opportunity for an experienced control systems engineer with previous experience implementing PLC control systems in a project environment. The role will perform the following responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, test, and commission modifications to all existing equipment / drive level PLC logic at Rio Tinto’s East Intercourse Island port.
• Work within a team of up to 10 experienced engineers and support the Lead Engineer in ensuring that the project team delivers to the required quality, time, and budget.
• Work with minimal supervision on-site in installing and commissioning PLC logic changes, performing all change management processes and procedures, and adhering to all site HSE practices.
• Provide technical support to the project team and to Site to help resolve any issues with the PLC modifications during the project.
• Participate in project workshops including but not limited to, design workshops, risk workshops, stakeholder presentations, progress meetings, and conducting off-site and on-site testing and commissioning.

What Is Needed For This Role
To be considered and to be successful in this role, the candidate will have:
• Previous experience with the control systems at Rio Tinto’s Dampier Ports is essential.
• Significant experience in designing, implementing and commissioning PLC projects in the iron ore or materials handling industry (minimum 5 years).
• Demonstrated capability of working in both a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated adherence to the clients change management and HSE policies and procedures.
It will also be beneficial if the candidate has:
• Experience in Citect and / or Wonderware HMI design and implementation.

Our client, a global mining leader has several mines located in the Pilbara region of WA on their behalf we are seeking the services of an experienced Electricians for various roles and sites.

  • 8/6 or 2/1 
  • Plant maintenance 
  • Available for an immediate start
  • FIFO from Perth

For the plant maintenance roles you will be required to maintain, service and repair surface fixed plant equipment such as crushers, wash plant and load out facilities all of which are operated using Citect control systems.

To be successful for the plant maintenance role you will be required to have:-

  • HV switching ticket along with instrumentation experience
  • Current/valid driver’s licence
  • Breakdown experience 
  • Sound mining experience in fixed plant or heavy industrial experience with sound exposure to PLC’s
  • Current WA “A” grade electrical licence
